Installation ABAP Development Tool (ADT) on Eclipse
In this article, i will explain how can we download and what will we do in setup steps for ABAP Development Tool (ADT) on Eclipse.
As you see, installation and setup steps explain in this site but very insufficient.
I will explain in details, Except for the parts on standby when downloading files, it will take only 10 minutes.
1. Firstly, you must install last version of JAVA.
2. After downloading JAVA, you should install “Eclipse IDE for Java Developers” 32 Bit or 64 Bit but first check your system bit and choose be carefully.
3. Extract the “.zip” folder where you downloaded the file is located. “Eclipse” will appear in the folder. This “Eclipse” folder to get cut.
4. Open this folder “C:\Program Files\SAP”. Create a new folder by the name of “ADT” in SAP folder.
5. We cut from “Eclipse” folder in Third step, paste it into the “ADT” folder. This is supposed to be a folder in the following way: “C:\Program Files\SAP\ADT\Eclipse”.
6. “C:\Program Files\SAP\ADT\eclipse\eclipse.exe” file on the desktop to create a shortcut. Change the shortcut name by “SAP Abap Development Tools”.
7. Run “SAP Abap Development Tools” program. In this part, change folder name “workspace” to “workspaceAbap” and you don’t forget tick “Use this as the default..”.
8. While open Eclipse close welcome window, In the menu, “Help >> Install New Software” and choose “Add” button. Moreover, write the boxes “Name = SAP”, “Location = https://tools.hana.ondemand.com/neon” and press “OK” button.
9. Select this “ABAP Development tools for SAP NetWeaver” box. Following screens press next button 2–3 times and complete installation.
10. We need to make a few small adjustment. After installation is done, select Window >> Preferences and select left side General >> Workspace and choose right side “Text file encoding” >> “Other : UTF-8”.
11. It’s important to activate Automatic Updates. In the left side, choose Install/Update >> Automatic Updates and right side tik “Automatically find new updates” choose “Once a day”, press OK and finish adjustment.
12. Last step, press “Open Perspective” button top of the right side and enter the ABAP Development Area.
